2017 AMC Volleyball Tournament Championship Preview – Quarterfinals

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The quarterfinals round of the 2017 AMC Volleyball Conference Tournament gets underway on Tuesday.

The round will be hosted by the top-four seeds.

Seven teams in this year’s tournament made an appearance last season.Park and Columbia tied for the AMC Volleyball Regular-Season Championship.Stephens is making its first appearance since 2014.William Woods, Missouri Baptist and Columbia are the only teams to have a spot in each tournament since 2007.Columbia was won the conference tournament the previous two year.The semifinals and championship will be held at Park University in Parkville, Mo.Five teams are looking for their first tournament championship, dating back to 2007.

Columbia:Caroline Clifford: ranks in the top-five in the AMC in total kills (No. 2, 423), kills per set (No. 5, 3.3) and is 17th in the NAIA in total kills.Park:Nada Meawad: Ranks first in the conference in kills per set (4.5) and service aces per set (0.5), third in kills (402) and service aces (48) and fourth in hitting percentage (.328)Missouri Baptist:Marion Couraud: Ranks first in the AMC in kills (493) and third in kills per set (4.5). She is No. 5 in the NAIA in total kills and No. 10 in kills per game (4.1).William Woods:Brittney Engelbrecht: Third in the conference in assists per set (9.6) and fifth in assists (1,057).Lyon:Madisson Williams: Leads the conference in digs (671) and digs per set (5.6). Ranks 13th in the NAIA in total digs.Lindenwood-Belleville:Lauren English: fifth in the AMC in hitting percentage (.316) and kills (327).Freed-Hardeman:Reilly Fulton: fourth in conference with a 4.5 digs per set average and ninth in digs (373).Stephens:Danielle Kirk: Fourth in the AMC in kills per set (3.8) and eighth in total kills (305).
